Unlike the big stores, I care about your data, and I understand in the real world not everyone backs up. Before doing any work on your computers main components (not battery) I backup your data JUST IN CASE something happens. These backups remain for 30 days and then they are wiped and reused for others. I do not look through anyones data, but for example after changing a screen, I will open Photo Booth to check if camera works. If I see what looks to be a spreadsheet of any kind I shut it before looking. In this manner I protect and respect your data, without giving you the line "we give you all the tools to back your data up, it's not our fault if you dont use them". Never here!!
